Pressure Treated Southern Yellow Pine (PT) is one of the most popular and affordable outdoor wood materials in the United States. It is treated with ACQ (an arsenic-free preservative) that provides strong protection against rot, termites, mold, and mildew, making it well suited for outdoor environments.

Narrow Spacing (Most Popular)

 Great for bare feet, small pets, and everyday household use. Narrow spacing provides a more refined appearance while still allowing dirt, sand, and debris to fall through the slats.

Wide Spacing

A more open design that allows mud, snow, sand, and debris to fall through easily. This option works especially well for muddy areas, work boots, garages, cabins, and high-debris environments.

Maintenance Tips

Avoid Direct Sunlight:

Pressure treated wood can dry out, crack, or warp with prolonged sun exposure. Doormats perform best in covered entryways, porches, or shaded areas.

Periodical Inspection:

Check occasionally for splintering, especially in sun-exposed areas. If splintering occurs, it can usually be smoothed with a razor knife. Over time, the wood stabilizes and splintering typically decreases.

Cleaning:

Simply hose off the mat to remove dirt, sand, or debris. For deeper cleaning, a deck cleaner or mild bleach solution can restore its appearance.
